Antique Chinese 24K Gold Opal Stud Earrings - Custom Repurposed Buttons Hand Made

This is an absolutely stunning pair of handmade pure 24k Chinese Gold Opal Earrings that I had my jeweler do as handmade up-cycle and re-purpose from antique Chinese gold buttons. We worked to re-purpose the gold button clasps into earring pins and fused them to the original pieces while preserving the antique hallmarks. You can see the original buttons and clasps in the pictures. The pins are actually the original repurposed gold.

I wish I knew more of the history of these, but what I do know is that they are pure solid 24k, and originated from China in the 1800's. They are truly hand made by a master goldsmith, and each piece is custom laid.

The opals in this pair are beyond magnificent! They literally glow in a vibrant electric baby blue with slight hues of reds and purples. I have a "thing" for opals, in case you can't tell from a lot of the jewelry I sell. These are absolutely stunning, and even better in person.

The button hooks were removed, refined, and hammered into the pins you now see. The pins were then laser fused onto the original pieces. I have added modern 18K solid gold butterfly earring backs.
