Sterling Silver Cigarette Case - Hand Carved Prague Castle - 1948 - .900 Coin Silver

1948 vintage sterling silver cigarette case with a very ornate hand carved image of Prague Castle in the Czech Republic. European design and well crafted with neat lines and clean work.

Hallmarked with the Maker's Mark AKP and 900 for 90% coin silver with the inscription of 1948 and what appears to be the letters O and S in ornate script inside the lid. The inside of the case is gold-washed and is in very good condition.

The image of Prague Castle is well detailed and nicely cut. The work appears to be chiseled and cut by hand.

There are no markings or writing on the outside of the case.

Silver is tested and solid.

It's a large case at 4.5 inches wide, 3.25 inches tall and about a half inch thick. Weight is very heavy at approximately 145 grams.

Good working order, clasp closes properly and in good working order. No faults or issues. Bands in excellent condition, and the hinges are tight. It's likely this never saw daily use.

Mirror is very clear and usable.
